3 mindset hacks to take your business from burnt out to lit up

Do you ever feel like you’re doing all the right things in your business, but the results STILL aren’t showing up?


You’re clear on your ideal client, you know your offers are valuable, you’re putting content out there consistently, but still…nothing.


As someone who spent a LOT of time in this place in the beginning of my business, trust me, I KNOW how frustrating it can feel.


It’s like a constant roller coaster of hope and fear. On the one hand, you know you’re RIGHT THERE. You’re SO freaking close to the results you want, you can feel it in your bones. But then, you don’t actually know why the things you’re doing aren’t working, which leaves you feeling powerless and out of control.


So, you add more strategies. You take more courses. You create more offers. And before you know it, you’re running yourself ragged chasing down shiny object after shiny object, telling yourself that THIS next thing will be THE thing that changes everything for you.


You see where I’m going with this right? It’s an exhausting cycle that does nothing but keep you stuck in hustle mode with no results to show for it.


So I’m going to let you in on a little secret.


THE thing that will change everything for you? It’s not a sales trick or fancy strategy that you’re missing.


It’s YOU. If you’re taking action after action after action and not getting results, then it’s time to take a good hard look at the mindset side of the equation.


You can’t out-hustle a bad mindset. If you’re executing like a mofo on your strategy, but deep down, you don’t actually believe that it’ll ever work, It’s like making toast without plugging in the toaster. You can do all the right actions– slice the bread, put it in the toaster, turn the dial to the right setting– but if it’s not plugged in? It’s never going to work.


So if you’re the proverbial soggy toast in this story, let’s get you plugged in, shall we?

Here are my top 3 mindset hacks to take your business from burnt out to lit up:


1. Reframe failure.

99.9999999% of the time, everything that’s holding us back – all our fear, doubts, self-sabotage, etc. – arise because we’re trying to keep ourselves safe, AKA, as far away from failure as possible.


We’ve been so conditioned to believe that ‘failing’ is basically as good as death, and as a result, we fear it almost just as much. And that fear paralyzes us, keeping us nice and safe (and stuck and small).


But what if you decided to look at failure and its associates – anxiousness, insecurity, doubt, fear – all simply as signs that you’re moving toward your goals rather than things to avoid or beat yourself up about?


How much more motivated and confident would you be if every time things started to feel hard, you knew it just meant that clarity on your next step was on the other side?


How would things change if you saw these things as a NECESSARY part of your growth rather than something to run away from?


Would you show up differently in your business if you stopped being so afraid of what could go wrong, and decided that EVERYTHING – the good, the bad, the uncomfortable – were all necessary to get you closer to your goals?


The only surefire way to stay stuck and NOT get the results you want is by letting your fear and doubt keep you stuck. Failure, on the other hand, is a catalyst for growth.


Fail often and fail forward. Even if it’s messy and uncomfortable and slow, as long as you keep moving forward you will eventually arrive.


2. Stop arguing for your limitations.

I see SO many entrepreneurs with all the potential in the world to be/do/have everything they want stay stuck in the same place for WAY too long because they imprison themselves in fear and excuses for why they can’t live up to their full potential.


They aren’t creative enough. They aren’t good at content. They suck at sales. They don’t have enough time. It’s not the right time. They don’t have enough money. They aren’t good enough. So-and-so does it better. The list goes on and on.


The dangerous part of this whole thing? Usually we don’t even realize the negative self-talk that’s going on until it’s too late. Then days, weeks, or months go by where we’re taking ALL the action and wondering why results aren’t showing up (again).


Well, guess what? If you believe all those things to be true about you, then they will be. Those clients you want? They’re not going to believe in you if you don’t believe in you. They won’t think you’re worthy if you don’t think you’re worthy. If you believe so-and-so is better than you, so will they.


Choose to argue for the possibilities.


Choose to argue for the story you WANT instead of the one you have.


3. Pay attention to what you’re paying attention to.

As human beings, we are programmed for instant gratification. And when it comes to mindset work, that need for instant gratification can be a recipe for constantly uncovering new problems and getting REALLY stuck in our head.


Here’s what I mean:


Let’s say you had a launch that didn’t go as planned. You did everything you thought you were supposed to do, but it just didn’t unfold like you wanted to, so there MUST be a reason why. There must be some ‘block’ or limiting belief or subconscious fear that caused you to self-sabotage…


So you dive into it. You focus all your energy into figuring out what’s keeping you stuck, and because you’re continuously looking for reasons why you didn’t get what you want, you keep finding them. Then you end up with a whole list of things you need to ‘process through’ in your journal before you can move forward.


And since all your energy is aligned with ‘I am stuck,’ guess where you’re going to stay?

Don’t let your ‘mindset work’ has become an excuse to shrink back and be invisible while you process #allthethings. If you’re someone who is stuck in her own way and not getting the results you know you should be, I’d encourage you to get really honest with yourself about whether you’re paying more attention to moving forward or uncovering new doubts.



When it comes to getting big results in your business, the most important part of your strategy is making sure your mindset is on point. Any strategy CAN work if you work it, but if you don’t actually believe that success if possible for you, then you’ll just continue going through the motions without actually getting anywhere.


My advice? Make your mindset work your #1 non-negotiable business activity every single day. Pay attention to the thoughts and the self-talk that’s going on, and make it a point to ask yourself regularly whether you want the the things that are rolling around in your mind to be part of your reality.


And if you can’t do this on your own, GET SUPPORT. I see so many entrepreneurs keeping themselves stuck for way too long because they simply can’t see where they’re getting in their own way. Having that outside support to see things from a macro perspective will help you move through your blocks, so you can stop holding yourself back and start seeing real results.
